NEWPORT, RI – June 12, 2017 – Mike Melillo, CEO and co-founder of Dockwa, Inc., the award-winning software company that connects marinas to boaters in real time, has been named one of Boating Industry’s “40 Under 40” for 2017. The 40 Under 40 list is comprised of individuals under 40 who stand out for their efforts to improve the boating industry and their organizations.”
Melillo has long enjoyed spending time on the water, but first began studying the boating industry in 2013 when he noted boat captains circling Newport Harbor in search of dock space. In the summer of 2014 he launched Dockwa with the goal of streamlining the marine reservation process. Today, Melillo leads a team of 20 individuals all similarly committed to creating a positive dockage booking experience.

Founded in May 2015, Dockwa is an award-winning, unified marina operations platform which connects boaters to marinas in real time, online and by app. Boaters download the free iOS or Android app or log in online and then search, explore, reserve and pay for their reservations in a matter of minutes. Marinas then use the Dockwa platform to confirm the reservation, collect payment and deposit the customers' information into their intelligent database with a single click. Headquartered in Newport, RI, Dockwa rapidly expanded along the eastern seaboard in its first year to a growing marina network of more than 400 marinas and tens of thousands of boaters. Dockwa is now expanding into the Great Lakes region, the West Coast and beyond. For more information, visit: https://dockwa.com and follow on Facebook, LinkedIn, and @getdockwa on Twitter.
