Getting started with dockwa:

The onboarding call

Learn Dockwa with your Marina Success Manager

When you've completed your marina's Direct Deposit form and provided your marina's dockage, fuel and electric rates, our Marina Success Team will reach out to you to set up your Dockwa Onboarding Call. The Marina Success Team is here to ensure you have the information and education you need to make the best use of Dockwa at your Marina.

The goal of your Onboarding Call is to teach you the basics of Dockwa, from accessing your account to reviewing and accepting dockage requests. Should you wish to learn more than just the basics of Dockwa, to implement features like InstantBook or dockage Assignments, be sure to tell your Marina Success Manager (the individual leading your Onboarding Call). He or she will set up additional calls for you within the month to show you how to use your entire Dockwa toolkit.

Here's what you can expect to experience during your Dockwa Onboarding Call:

1. Sharing What You Want to Get Out of Dockwa

We'll start your Dockwa Onboarding Call by asking you some questions about you and your marina: What does your inventory look like? What tools are you currently using? What are your goals for improving your marina?

Learning what your marina is like and what your goals are will help your Marina Success Manager (MSM) tailor your Dockwa training to your particular marina.

2. Setting Up Your Account

Once your MSM has an idea of what you're trying to get out of Dockwa, he or she will set up your Dockwa username and password. Be sure to have an idea of which other staff members will be managing dockage requests - your MSM will set up their usernames and passwords as well.

3. Seeing How Boaters Use Dockwa

With your and your staff's Dockwa accounts set up, your MSM will show you how boaters 1) find your marina on Dockwa and 2) request your dockage. You'll see why other marinas have grown their customer base with Dockwa and why boaters enjoy this streamlined, online booking experience.

4. Learning How to Manage Boater Requests

Then, it'll be time for the fun part - confirming boater dockage requests and getting paid! You'll learn how to:

  1. Review your Dockwa Dashboard for new dockage requests
  2. Confirm, decline, or waitlist your requests
  3. Chat your boaters with approach instructions, questions about their ETA, etc
  4. Track your boater payments as they are deposited into your bank account

5. Pushing Your Profile Live

When you feel comfortable with your Dockwa reservation tools and your MSM has answered your questions, we will push your marina's profile live on the Dockwa network. At that point, you will be instantly discoverable and bookable to boaters browsing the Dockwa app or website. Congratulations!

After your Onboarding Call, the Marina Success Team will always be a resource for you to contact with questions about your Dockwa account, request new feature trainings, etc. For help contacting your MSM, head to our Marina Success Team contact page.
